Watermelon

Watermelon is a large fruit with a refreshing taste that belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family. It is characterized by its round or oval shape, with a hard and rough shell of dark green color with light green stripes. The inside of the Algiers melon is juicy and composed of an intense red pulp, although there are also varieties with yellow or pink pulp. This pulp is juicy, sweet and refreshing, with a high water content, making it a hydrating fruit. Watermelon is an excellent source of vitamins A and C, as well as antioxidants and electrolytes, such as potassium. It is mainly consumed fresh, sliced or cubed, being a very popular option during hot summer days. It is also used to prepare refreshing drinks, fruit salads, smoothies and sorbets.
